Gaming laptops use 144Hz, 165Hz or 240Hz panels that standard repair shops often replace with a 60Hz screen. We don’t. At our Bentleigh East workshop we fit the matching high-refresh panel for MSI, Asus ROG and TUF, Acer Nitro and Predator, Dell G-series and Alienware, HP Omen and Victus, Lenovo Legion and LOQ, and Gigabyte Aero and Aorus laptops.

What matters on a gaming laptop screen
- Refresh rate – 144Hz, 165Hz, 240Hz or 360Hz. We fit the same as the original.
- Resolution – Full HD (1920×1080), QHD (2560×1440) or 4K; must match the connector and the board.
- Connector – most high-refresh panels use a 40-pin eDP cable rather than the 30-pin used on standard laptops.
- Colour gamut – 45% NTSC vs 100% sRGB panels look very different; we match the original grade or better.
- G-Sync / Adaptive Sync – supported where the original panel had it.
Common gaming laptop screen faults
- Cracked panel from transport in a bag without a sleeve
- Vertical lines or a dead strip after a knock
- Black screen with fans spinning – check the external display first; if that works, it’s the panel or cable
- Flicker at high refresh only – often the cable, sometimes the panel
- Backlight bleed or a dim half – panel replacement

Frequently asked questions
How much does a gaming laptop screen cost to replace?
High-refresh panels cost more than standard laptop screens because of the 144Hz–240Hz panel itself, but it is still far cheaper than a new gaming laptop. Call or text 0421 388 876 with the model for a price.
Can you fit the same refresh rate as the original?
Yes – we match the refresh rate, resolution and connector. A 60Hz panel in a 144Hz laptop works but looks noticeably worse, so we don’t do that.
Can I upgrade my gaming laptop to a higher refresh rate screen?
Sometimes – 60Hz to 144Hz is possible on some models if the board supports it. Ask with your model and we’ll check.
Do you repair MSI laptop screens?
Yes – GF63, GF65, Katana, Sword, Stealth, Raider and Titan.
How long does a gaming laptop screen replacement take?
1–2 days, because the exact high-refresh panel is ordered for your model. The fitting itself takes under an hour.
