Common Acer screen problems
- Cracked Aspire screen – panel replaced the same day.
- Black screen with the power light on – backlight or cable; an external monitor test tells us which.
- Screen only works at certain lid angles – worn display cable in the hinge, common on Aspire 3 and 5.
- Hinge pulled out of the lid – Acer hinges can tear the plastic; we’ll tell you if the lid needs repair before a new screen goes in.
- Dim, washed-out picture – usually the original HD TN panel; upgrade to Full HD IPS for a small extra cost.
