Common HP screen problems
- Cracked or shattered screen – the most common; panel replacement fixes it.
- Black screen but the laptop is on – usually the panel backlight or the display cable; we test both before quoting.
- Vertical or horizontal lines – a damaged panel; replacement needed.
- Flickering or dim screen – can be the panel, cable or hinge wear on x360 models.
- Touchscreen not responding (x360, Envy, Spectre) – the touch layer is part of the panel; replaced as one unit.
Upgrade while you’re at it
Many HP 15 and Pavilion models shipped with a dim HD (1366×768) TN panel. For a small extra cost we can fit a Full HD IPS panel instead – brighter, sharper, better colours. Ask when you book.

Usually yes, if the laptop has a 30-pin eDP connector, which most HP models since 2015 do. We’ll confirm from the model number.
