How Much Does It Cost to Fix a Laptop Screen in Melbourne?

A laptop screen replacement in Melbourne is priced on the screen, not the laptop brand: its size, resolution and whether it is a touchscreen. At Laptop Screen Fixer in Bentleigh East the price always includes the panel and the fitting, most repairs are done the same day, and we quote before we start.

A vertical line like this is a damaged panel – it can’t be repaired, but the panel is replaced the same day.

What affects the price

  • Resolution and panel type. An HD panel costs less than Full HD; IPS, high-refresh and 4K panels cost more.
  • Touchscreen. Touch panels are bonded to the glass, so the whole assembly is replaced.
  • Availability. We stock common 14″ and 15.6″ panels. Unusual sizes are ordered and take 1–2 days.
  • Damage beyond the screen. A cracked hinge, bent lid or damaged display cable adds to the cost. We’ll tell you before starting.

Is it worth fixing, or should I buy a new laptop?

If the laptop is under four years old and otherwise works, a screen replacement is almost always worth it – it costs a fraction of a new machine and you keep your data and programs. We’ll give you an honest answer on the phone if it isn’t.

How it works

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to fix a laptop screen?

It depends on the screen size, resolution and whether it is a touchscreen – not the brand. Standard 14″ and 15.6″ HD and Full HD panels are the cheapest; touch, 4K and high-refresh gaming panels cost more. Call or text 0421 388 876 with your model and we’ll quote in minutes.

How much does an HP laptop screen replacement cost?

The same as any other brand with the same screen. See our HP screen replacement page.

How much is a Lenovo laptop screen?

IdeaPad and ThinkPad panels are standard sizes; Yoga touchscreens and Legion high-refresh panels cost more. See Lenovo screen replacement.

How long does a laptop screen repair take?

Usually under an hour if the screen is in stock, which it is for most 14″ and 15.6″ laptops. Unusual sizes are ordered and take 1–2 days.

Can a cracked laptop screen be repaired rather than replaced?

No – LCD panels can’t be repaired once cracked. The panel is replaced; the rest of the laptop is untouched.

Do you replace touchscreens?

Yes. Touch assemblies cost more because the digitiser and panel are one unit.

Is a laptop screen replacement covered by the manufacturer’s warranty?

Not if the damage is accidental. Our replacement screens carry their own warranty.
